- Two main characteristics of the nomadic herders are:
- The nomads live in tents and live a simple and hard life.
- They rear cattle for food, hides and milk. Surplus animal products are exchanged by them for agricultural products.
- Nomads living in the deserts of Saudi Arabia are called Bedouins and those living in Central Asia are called Kirghiz.
