Which components of soil determine the productivity of soil with respect to agriculture?

Soil provide nutrients to crops which are essential for growth. Nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus are the major nutrients in soil that affect crop productivity and plant growth. Humus is another component of soil that affects productivity, as humus provide for the carbon needs of the plant. Thus nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium along with humus determines the soil productivity.
