- The Sunderban dealta is the largest delta in the world. It is formed by rivers Ganga and Brahmaputra.
- The Sunderban forests spread about 10,000 sq km across India and Bangladesh, of which 40% lies in India,
- It is the home of ‘Royal Bengal tiger’.
- Most of the delta is covered with mangrove forests. Sundari tree is found in abundance here. This delta is named after these sundari trees.
