Expert Answer
The electricity flows only through a complete circuit (closed circuit) and not through a broken circuit (open circuit). A switch is a device used to stop the flow of electricity by breaking the circuit. When you flip a switch off, you are breaking the circuit. Thus, this opens the circuit and the electricity will not flow through it.
