when the word boys is in plural form then the answer must be finished but the answer given is finish. how is it?

The word ‘finished’ is the past tense of the verb ‘finish’.

The word ‘boys’ is the plural form of the noun ‘boy’.

The verb ‘finish’ will be used with the noun ‘boys’ when the sentence is in the present tense or a habitual action.

Example: The boys finish eating their snacks quickly.

The verb ‘finished’ will be used with the noun ‘boys’ when the sentence is in the past tense.

Example: The boys finished their homework on time.
