When is prefixs n, iso and neo are added to hydrocarbons.
Plz explain clearly

Prefix n is usd when all the carbon atoms form continous linear chain (unbranched).
Example
C H subscript 3 minus C H subscript 2 minus C H subscript 2 minus C H subscript 2 minus C H subscript 3 space i s space n space p e n tan e.
Prefix iso is used when there is a one branching in the chain. That is all carbons except one form a linear chain.
Prefix iso can also indicate that molecule is constitutional isomer of the anothermolcule with common name.
Prefix neo is used when alkanes have two methyl groups attached to the next to the end carbon atom of the continuous chain.
