Egg white in water forms a colloidal solution.

When we pass a beam of light through a colloidal solution, the path of the light becomes visible when seen from a direction at right angle to that of the incident light.

Usually the particles of size in the range of 10-9 m to 10-6 m scatter the visible light.

This scattering of light by particles in a colloid is known as Tyndall effect.
