When can an Ordinance be issued by the
President?

The President can issue an ordinance in the following situations:
- When he is satisfied that the circumstances are necessary for him to take immediate action.
- It can be promulgated when both the Houses are not in session. However, even if one is in session, there is no bar in issuing an ordinance.
- The ordinance has to be laid down before both the houses when they reassemble. If the Parliament does not approve the Ordinance lapses.
