FAO has helped in the Terai region of Uttarakhand and made it fit for cultivation and habitation.
It has helped to turn the desert region in Rajasthan into a fertile land by checking soil erosion.
It has helped in setting up the Sheep and Wool Research Institute in Rajasthan and the Central Institute of Catering Technology and Nutrition in several cities.
Freedom from Hunger campaign was launched in India in 1960.
