Kinetic energy K = (1/2)mv2......................(1)

where m is mass and v is velocity .

By taking logarithm on both side of eqn.(1) and differentiating after, we get,

dK/K = (dm/m) + 2 (dv/v) ..................(2)

Kinetic energy is directly proportional to mass .
If velocity is kept constant and mass is increased or decreased by 10%
kinetic energy also increases or decreases by same 10%

Kinetic energy is proportional to square of velocity.
If mass is kept constant and velocity is increased or decreased by 10%,
then kinetic energy increases or decreases by 20%

Hence greater change in kinetic energy is caused by changing its velocity compare to changing its mass.
