ICSE Class 10 Answered
WHAT WILL BE THE EFFECT ON IMAGE FORMATION WHEN CONVEX LENS IS COVERED WITH BLACK PAPER INT MIDDLE?
Asked by V H ANAHAT SRIHARI | 05 Jan, 2013, 06:04: AM
Expert Answer
The covering of the lens at the middle will stop the rays passing through the centre of the lens but will let the marginal rays pass and image will be formed. This will:
1. form an image with lower intensity than that would have been without the paper.
2. The spherical aberration of the lens would decrease.
3. The resolving power of the lens will not be affected.
