what will be the direction of force if the armature coil is placed perpendicular to the magnetic field and the two ends of the coil are connected to a battery in a dc motor

When the coil of a d.c. motor is perpendicular to the magnetic field, no force or no-torque acts on it. The coil crosses the zer-torque position due to inertia.
