4. The Maratha army was perfect in the art of guerrilla warfare. They surprised the enemies by suddenly attacking them.
5. The army was instructed to follow a strict ethical code. They were not to kill children and the elderly or dishonour women. They were also instructed not to harm any holy books or religious structures.
