What was the condition of India on the eve of Babur’s invasion?

On the eve of Babur’s invasion, India was divided into several states continuously fighting with each other. The Delhi Sultanate had considerably reduced in size as many states had declared themselves independent. There was disunity and many factions vied with each other to assume power. Under such circumstances, Daulat Khan Lodi invited Babur to invade India.
