ICSE Class 10 Answered
What should be the angle bw the force and displacement to get the minimum work
Asked by lovemaan5500 | 15 Mar, 2018, 07:30: AM
Expert Answer
workdone = force × displacement
displacement should be in the direction of force.
If force and displacements are happen to be in different direction then workdone W = F×ds×cos(θ)
where F is force, ds is displacement and θ is angle between force and displacement
In vector notation W = F•ds, W is scalar, F and ds are vectors
so if θ=90º, workdone is minimum
