What precautions should be taken in grafting?

The following precautions must be taken in grafting:
(a) Cambium layers of both the plants should come in contact so that growth can take place.
(b) The grafted points should be sealed by a tape and soft wax to prevent dehydration and shield it against germs.
(c) If any bud is present on the stock, it should be removed.
