Sentence 1: Amie and Potter is my cousins.
Sentence 2: Amie and Potter are my cousins.
In sentence 1, the singular verb 'is' does not agree with the plural subject 'Amie and Potter.'
In sentence 2, the plural verb 'are' agrees with the plural subject 'Amie and Potter'.
Subject-Verb Agreement: A singular subject takes a singular verb. A plural subject takes a plural verb.
