answered-by-expert Expert Answer

In a turgid plant cell, the pressure of the cell contents on the cell wall is called the turgor pressure, and the pressure exerted by the cell wall on the cell content is called wall pressure.

Root preesure is the pressure developed in the roots due to continued inward movement of water through cell-to-cell osmosis which helps in the ascent of cell sap upward through the stem.

It is caused by active transport of mineral nutrient ions into the root xylem. Water diffuses from the soil into the root xylem due to osmosis. Root pressure is caused by this accumulation of water in the xylem pushing on the rigid cells. Root pressure provides a force, which pushes water up the stem.
