What is the use of adding salt on kulphis?

so the temperature can be kept lower by adding salt. As per your data also one can guess that the kulphi will now freeze at lower temperature .
So it will take more time to melt also.
AS we know that the heat released or taken is proportional to the temperature difference of the object with the surroundings.
More heat will be required by the substance now to melt.
