What is the meaning of xifi in statistics?

xi specifies the value of the variable.
fi specifies the frequency of the value of the variable or the number of times the particular
variable occurs in the particular experiment.
 
Thus, xifi specifies the relative value of the variable or the weightage of the particular
value of the variable. It can also be said as the importace of the particular value of the variable.
