What is the mass & density of the nucleus in an atom?

Expert Answer
Let mass number of nucleus A and atomic number is Z. Hence it has Z number of protons and (A-Z) number of nuetrons.
mass of nucleus = Z×mass of protons +(A-Z)×mass of neutrons;
(actually mass of nucleus is slightly less than the value calculated as above due to packing fraction. But we will neglect this small difference)
density of nucleus = mass of nucleus / volume of nucleus
