answered-by-expert Expert Answer
Mendel's law of independent assortment states that allele pairs separate independently during the formation of gametes. This means that traits are transmitted to offspring independently of one another. In other words, when two or more characteristics are inherited, individual hereditary factors assort independently during gamete production, giving different traits an equal opportunity of occurring together.
