What is the Green Revolution?

The introduction of high yielding varieties of seeds and improved use of fertilisers, irrigation facilities, pesticides and insecticides is known as the Green Revolution. Such measures resulted in increased food grain production in India. Various land reforms were also initiated to make the Green Revolution more successful.
