what is the effective resistance between A and B?

Above diagram is the simplified equivalent circuit
if you neglect above and below wire because there is no resistance in them and
calculate effective resistance surely you will get 2R as the answer.
But technically, Current follows the path will least possible resistance and since
there is a direct connection (no resistance ) between B and A current would prefer
that path instead flowing through the resistance.
This is also equivalent to having a single direct wire.
