What is the difference between the displacement produced by a rectangular glass slab in a ray of light and the deviation produced by a glass prism?

In glass slab, refraction taking places at two parallel surfaces, hence the direction of light does not change only shift of path
in lateral direction known as lateral displacement occurs.
In glass prism, refraction occurs at two surfaces which are inclined in opposite direction with respect to one another,
Hence after refraction at both nthe surfaces, there is a deviation in direction of light ray. This deviation angle depends
on the refractive index of material of prism
