Expert Answer
Radioactivity is phenomenon of mass decay in the form of radiation . Radiation are of different kind first one is known as alpha decay, Alpha decay happens in the form of helium ion, if one alpha particle decay from object then it will decreased by equivalent to mass of helium particle. So yes alpha particle is same as helium ion.
