What is the consequence of a straight line downward
sloping demand curve for a monopoly firm?

Expert Answer
When a firm’s demand curve slope downwards, the AR > MR. As AR decreases, MR also decreases but at faster rate than AR, and therefore MR curve lies below the AR curve.
