Expert Answer
In CGS system, there are two units for current, i.e., electro-static unit (esu) and electro-magnetic unit (emu).
1 esu of current = charge per unit time = 1 statCoulomb / 1s
statCoulomb is the CGS (esu) unit of charge, that can be obtained from coulomb's law : 1 statCoulomb = 1 g1/2 cm3/2 s-1
Hence 1 esu of current = 1 g1/2 cm3/2 s-2
1 emu of current is called 1 biot (Bi), which is based on amperes force law : 1 emu of current = 1 Bi = 1 g1/2 cm1/2 s-11 g1/2 cm1/2 s−1
