Expert Answer
Smoke is present in the air. It consists of fine carbon particles and some gases.
Smoke is produced by the burning of fuels like wood, petrol, coal etc.
Tall chimneys are installed in factories to take the smoke produced in the factories high up in the air so as to reduce its harmful effects on the ground.
Traffic policemen regulating traffic often wear masks to protect themselves from the smoke containing harmful gases which is emitted by the vehicles moving around them.
