answered-by-expert Expert Answer
An object thrown with a velocity so that initial direction of projection makes an angle α with horizontal ( 90º >  α > 0 ) moves in two dimensional plane.
This is known as projectile. Horizontal displacement is due to horizontal component of projection velocity. Horizontal component of velocity will remain constant throughout the motion. Vertical displacement is due to vertical component of projection velocity. Vertical component of velocity is subjected to acceleration due to gravity. The trajectory of projectile follows a parabolic path
