answered-by-expert Expert Answer
Energy is available in nature in different forms  such as chemical energy , mechanical energy , nuclear energy and
light energy etc.  Coal , oil, cooking gas and petrol has chemical energy. Pressurised steam and wind has mechanical energy.
Nuclear fuel like Uranium has nuclear energy . Solar radiation has light energy.

But useable form for human need is thermal energy and electrical energy. Thermal energy is used for cooking food,
domestic heating and running vehicles. Electrical energy is used for lighting and operating machines.

Hence available energy in nature is to be converted to get thermal energy by burning or initiating chemical reactions.
Similarly available energy in nature is to be converted to get mechanical energy to run electricity generator to get electrical energy.
Hence energy conversion process that converts different form of available energy into thermal energy or electrical energy
is essential for human life to get useable form of energy.
