The value of the currency is based on available resources in the country such as gold or other valuable natural resources.

More the resources to back the economy of the nation, higher the value of the currency. 

 

The names of a few countries whose currency value is lower than that of India are:

Vietnam, Belarus, Indonesia, Paraguay, Cambodia, Mongolia, Costa Rica, Hungary, Iceland, Sri Lanka, Nepal, South Korea, Zimbabwe, Japan, Chile, Uzbekistan, Djibouti, Yemen, Algeria, Laos, Tanzania and many others
