Centripetal force has a reaction force in accordance with the Newton's third law of motion. This oppositely directed force is called "centrifugal force". It acts radially outwards. On a body, moving in a circle of radius r with speed v , its magnitude is given by mv2/ r , where "m" is the mass of the body.
