What is bioluminescence?
The emission of light from living organisms like plants and animals is called bioluminescence.

It occurs from a chemical reaction in which chemical energy is converted into light energy.
The name is originated from the Greek word “bios” for “living” and the Latin word “lumen” foe “light”.
