What is bill of lading? How does it differ from bill of entry ?

A bill of lading is legal document issued by a carrier acknowledging the receipt of cargo for shipment. It is binding document which provides the carrier with all the details needed to process frieght shipment and invoice it in the most accurate manner.
On the other hand, a Bill of Entry is a declaration by an importer or exporter about the nature, quantity and value of goods that have landed or are being shipped out.
