Atomicity: The number of atoms in a molecule of an element is called its atomicity.
Examples:
Inert gases like helium, neon are monoatomic.
Hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen are diatomic.
Ozone is triatomic.
Phosphorus(P4) is tetratomic.

Valency:
The valency of an atom is equal to the number of electrons in the outermost shell if that number is four or less.
If the number of electrons are more than four then the valency is equal to eight minus the number of electrons in the outer shell.
