Ashoka's Dhamma is a set of edicts that formed a policy of the Mauryan emperor Ashoka. the policy of 'dhamma' was based on the unifying principles of all major religions of the world. Some of the basic principles of dhamma are:
  • Respect to elders and love to children
  • Ahimsa or non-violence 
  • Good deeds would give happiness to man in the next birth
  • He taught people to respect all religions
