Answer:

Scale is the ratio between the actual distance on the ground and distance shown on the map.

There are two types of scale maps. They are:

  • Small Scale Maps: It shows large areas on a small scale. For example, 1 cm on the map can show up to 100 km on the ground.
  • Large Scale Maps: It shows small areas on a paper. For example, 2 cm on a map may show only 200 meters on the ground.
