Neurons are highly specialised cell of nervous tissue which have the ability to recieve & conduct the stimulus to different body parts.

Each neuron has three parts -

  1. Cell body(cyton) - which contain a large central nucleus & cytoplasm which Nissl's granules.
  2. Dendrones - short processes arising from cell body and further branch inti dendrites.
  3. Axon - single long, cylindrical processes of uniform diameter. It form fine branches terminally which are called symeptic terminals. They transmit nerve impulse. Axons are also called nerve fibers.
