1. Hydrometer is a device used for measuring densities of liquids.

2. Hydrometer is based on the principle of flotation, which states that when a body is floating in a fluid, then the weight of the fluid displaced by the immersed part of the body, acting vertically upward through centre of buoyancy is equal to the weight of floating body.
