CBSE Class 12-science Answered
What happens to the interference if the sources have same frequency and stable phase difference
Asked by Parinita Dolly | 08 Jan, 2015, 06:45: PM
Expert Answer
The sources which have same frequency and stable or constant phase difference are called COHERENT sources.
These two sources produce interference and the resultant wave will be given by the superposition of the two waves.
y = y1 + y2
y = [a sin ωt] + [b sin (ωt+Φ)]
Here, ω is the common angular frequency of the two sources and Φ is the stable phase difference between the two.
