what formula would be used to find the area of cloth/canvas required to cover a right conical tent some tents have a base in that case we would use t.s.a while in tents without base we would be using c.s.a but when the question does not tell whether the base has to covered or not then what to do

In most of the questions if they ask to find the area of cloth/canvas required to cover a conical tent,
we should use curved surface area only.
If they specify that base should be covered, then we need to use total surface area of the tent.
In general if they didnt specify anything, only curved surface area is to be considered.
