What extra force should an engine of a car developed such that its velocity change from 18 km per hour to 72 km per hour over a distance of 20 metre when mass of is 900 kg

Initial speed = 18 km / hr = 5 m /s ; final speed = 72 km /hr = 72×(5/18) = 20 m /s ;
To get extra force, first we need to get acceleration a using the formula " v2 = u2 + 2×a×S ",
where u and v are initial and final speed, S is the distance
20×20 = (5×5)+2×a×20 ...........(1)
from above eqn.(1) we get a = 9.375 m/s2
force = 900×9.375 = 8437.5 N
