Assumption means that the atom owes one electron from each shared pair

In H2 molecule both the atoms shared a pair of electrons means that each atom owes one electron.

And in case of sharing of lone pair of electrons then both shared that lone pair of electrons

In Hydronium ion (H3O) +, water has two pairs of electrons on oxygen atom while H+ ion has an empty 1s shell. Thus, oxygen atom can easily donate two electrons to H+ ion.

both the donor and acceptor shared that lone pair of electrons.
