ICSE Class 10 Answered
What does not change for a machine of a given design? Efficiency, mechanical advantage or velocity ratio? Explain.

Expert Answer
The mechanical advantage of a machine depends on the design of that machine.
Rest of the factors like efficiency and velocity ratio they depends on a lot of other factor but only mechanical advantage depends solely on design.
Eg. for a hydrolic lift
the mechanical advantage depends only on the area of the two pistons used for pumping the fluid and lifting the load, but efficiency, and velocity ratio also depends on the fluid used, type of pump used etc...
