The Court of Record is defined as the court whose judgements are recorded for evidence and testimony. These are in the nature of precedents and are referred to in other courts of the country.
The Supreme Court of India is considered as Court of Record. Some of its judgement made is considered to be laws. High Courts and District Courts give their judgements in light of these judgements passed by the Supreme Court. Also, the judgements are that are issued by the Supreme Court are preserved in printed form for reference.
