what do you really meant by image can or can not be obtained on screen

Expert Answer
Light rays coming from all the points of object in different direction , after reflection from spherical mirror or
after refraction from spherical lens should meet at another point. If this happens, then if we put the screen at the meeting point,
we see the image of object .
This is real image , inverted and magnification that depends on distances of object and image from mirror/lens.
If light rays coming from object physically do not meet, but they will appear as if they are coming from a point.
Then we will able to see the image, but can not be captured on screen. This image is called virtual image
