Disadvantages :-
Heating effect of current converts useful electrical energy into heat. This unavoidable heating will increase the temperature of the components used in electrical circuit and alter their properties. Heating in the conducting wire heats the insulation of conductors and detoriorates the insulating cover of the conductor.
advantages:-
Heating effect is used in electric-iron, electric oven and electric heater etc.. In electric bulb, electric current is heating the tungsten filament to produce light.
Also in electric fuse, heating of over-rated current heats and melts the fuse wire to protect the electrical appliances
