Expert Answer
Orbits or shells are the circular paths around the nucleus of an atom along which the electrons traverse.
The orbits or shells are represented by principal quantum number, n.
n=1 means first shell and so on.
Orbital is the space where the probability of finding an electron is highest.
Each sub-shell contains one or more orbitals.
Each sub-shell contains one or more orbitals.
Example,
s subshell contains only one orbital.
p subshell contains three orbitals.
d subshell contains five orbitals.
f subshell conatins seven orbitals.
