They form basic packing tissue.

Cell walls are highly thickened due to lignin deposition.

There is no internal space inside the cell.

Cells are closely packed, with no intercellular spaces.

It is a strengthening or mechanical tissue.

Features of collenchyma:

They possess living cells.

It shows deposition of extra cellulose at the corners of the cells.

Intercellular spaces are generally absenjt.

Their cells are elongated in shape.
